The story of the inn, Pousada Caminho do Rei, began in the summer of 1984, when we took a long hike up a winding trail, from Praia do Rosa, which at that time was a deserted beach. After reaching to top of the hill, we realized what a spectacular view it was. We sat on a rock, for a very long time, taken in by the breath taking view. There, at that moment, is when the inn was born, only we didn't know it yet.

Our life project was simple: live in a peaceful place, see our children grow up in harmony with nature and build an inn where our doors could always be open to friends and guests. At the same time, we didn't want it to feel like a hotel. We wanted it to be more like a piece of their own homes.

Our main concern, during the slow construction of the inn, was that each unit be placed in a planned location, and be integrated into the environment so that it wouldn't interfere with the view from the other units, always keeping in mind the original idea – peaceful with a panoramic view of the most beautiful region on the Catarinense coast. Another concern was that we needed to create an unpretentious cozy space that would be in harmony with the location.
